Here for 24 hours now. I went to a good portion of the Advanced Associated Professionals Forum II today. Silvia Priori rocks! Much of what I heard so far has been clinically useful. Next up is the “New Technology” abstract session and Featured Poster Sessions. The Featured Poster Session is one of my favorite sessions each year, because the posters are all highly graded efforts ,so it’s always worth reading as many as possible, and also because there is beer and wine! I think I understand more with a little wine in me.

Also on the list of things to do today was go to the Speaker Resource Center (formerly known as Speaker Ready room-why the change, BTW?). First off, they have a nearly constant supply of soda, coffee and water. Sweet! My favorite is the diet root beer.  I think I have had at least three so far. As always, the technicians have been great/very helpful, the system seems to be working well.

However, this year, the entire effort has been stepped up a notch. In addition to the soda, coffee and food, the room has plenty of couches and tables to sit and get some work done in a quiet environment. The biggest question is why the red back lighting? I feel like I am going into a club. Thankfully, there is no throbbing club music or disco ball. If the intent was to make the Speaker Resource Center, the hot spot of the meeting: mission accomplished.
